John Ceallach was born 18 February 1972 in Biloxi, Mississippi. John Ceallach's father was a Boston, Massachusetts native and his mother was from the Biloxi, Mississippi area (Pass Christian). He had small roles in films and TV as a child and teenager. John attended college for short time, before enlisting in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (Naval medical corps). He served alongside the US Marines during the Gulf War era. John left military active duty a few years later, transferred to reserve military and went on to work in state and local law enforcement while completing his college degree. In 2001 while working as a State Police officer, he was selected for a national television show with the ABC television network. However, it was canceled at the time of the September 11th attacks. In response to the pending war, he switched to the US Army Reserve (U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command). He served in Iraq and other places as a US Soldier and later as a US Govt. protective service officer (Contracted) with the Department of Defense for several years. Growing up in many areas he has known or lived close to well-known writer of "Band of Brothers" Stephen E. Ambrose, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Robin Roberts and Marco St. John. He is a direct descendant on his mother's side of John Bell of Adams, Tennessee that was the origin of the Bell witch Legend. In 2001 he was selected for the ABC television reality show "The Runner", co-produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. He would have had to go cross country doing covert style missions with a team of persons to track/capture him. The September 11th Attacks put the show on hold and was later cancelled due to security concerns during that time. In 2007/2008 He was selected for a significant role in the Feature film "Green Zone" Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon. He had a real life tie to the film due to the fact that he was posted in the Green zone in Baghdad, Iraq as both a US Soldier and later as a US Security Contractor providing Protective Service to US Dignitaries during the time frame of the book. Some of the circumstances brought forth in the book he had direct involvement and connection to the events. The film was based on "The Imperial Life in the Emerald City" and he met the Author of the book on several occasions while in the Green Zone. John is involved with causes surrounding Autism as he is a father of an autistic (ASD) "Asperger syndrome" Child. He is also heavily involved in US/UK Veteran's causes to include the Wounded Warriors program, OIF/OEF Vets and Children of OIF/OEF Vets causes. John was involved in the October 2008 viral campaign "Vote or Else/Five Friends" spearheaded by Leonardo DiCaprio/ Appian Way productions and many other well known celebrities. The project was put out to urge the US Public to get out and vote in the 2008 presidential elections. His part in the video however was not shown in the final cut that was released to the public. The book focuses on events spanning from the Author's service as a US Army Ranger in the closing part of the Vietnam war in the late 1960's and early 1970's to the Iraq war in 2004 where he was Doc's team leader in Iraq. "Doc" is also involved in the events featured/Mentioned in the book "To Live and Die in Iraq: The Gripping True Story of Iraq's Secret Soldiers " written by John Hollis.
